California Rodeo Salinas 2021 postponed due to the COVID-19

2021 California Rodeo Salinas has been postponed until September due to the COVID-19.

The rodeo announce the update on Thursday saying that their executive board voted unanimously to postpone the 11th rodeo. The event, which was originally scheduled for July 15-18, will be held September. 23-26.

“The current COVID-19 situation in Monterey County and the Central Coast and new guidance from state and local governments have led us to believe that postponing our Rodeo is the right thing to do at this time,” said Rodeo president Dave Pedrazzi.

Salinas is a major stop on the professional rodeo circuit. The Salinas rodeo began in 1911 as a Wild West Show on the site of the previous race track ground, now the Salinas Sports Complex. The rodeo was drafted into the Professional Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2008.
